They are also victims of violent crime.Ignoring repeat offenders doesn’t protect them — so what’s your plan? I’ve got one.”This is exactly the wrong way to frame public safety. Being soft on crime isn’t helpful to people of color. There are people of color in our communities that get up and work hard every day. They work hard for a better life for themselves and their families. They don’t need soft on crime policies. They need safe communities and opportunities just like everyone else.“People of color” aren’t just criminals needing coddling. They are lawyers, bakers, accountants and blue collar workers. What they need are safe communities. This isn’t a “Republican” idea.It’s common sense.

Our current DA has decided to run away from the mess he created, and others want to experiment with the DA’s office using untested theories.
I know how the office should be run. I was there when we knew how to work cases and serve citizens.
I see what’s gone wrong and when I’m elected, I will fix it. We must place our focus back on protecting victims and prosecuting criminals.
Reduce The Building Case Backlog
Backlogs erode public safety and trust. Ashley will attack the bottlenecks with a streamlined intake process, earlier discovery exchange, and smart triage that routes straightforward cases to rapid resolution while reserving trial teams for complex and violent felonies.

In my 11 years as Assistant District Attorney, I prosecuted thousands of felony cases with a success rate of over 99%. My father, a retired Colonel and local veterinarian from Alice, Texas, taught me to value justice and to protect the rights of our neighbors – That’s why I fought the fight to keep Bexar County safe.
But now as a mother and a wife, I see that fear has crept back into Bexar County where we are hesitant to report criminals, worried that we’ll be ignored, or worse, that the power of the DA may be turned against us!
Justice shouldn’t be political, safety is not partisan, and the fear of being victimized does not belong in Bexar County. Let’s fight it and fix it!
